James Halliday Australian Wine Companion, 2013 edition - rating of 96 points

James Halliday 96 points

"From 90 year-old vines, hand picked, cold soaked in open fermenters and matured in French oak, 30% new. Deep crimson- purple, the wine certainly shows the French oak but there is more than enough blackberry, plum and licorice fruit to accommodate that oak: the mouthfeel is velvety, the finish soft but very long; no issue whatsoever with the alcohol."
